Yael Stone, who was born in Australia and a resident of New York City in 2013 was the character Lorna Mello as a prisoner on Orange Is the New Black. Yael completed her studies at NIDA. Since her early years, Yael has been lucky enough to work with some of Australia's top storytellers, stars of the stage and visionaries behind the scenes in film, television and theatre. Yael has a successful career working in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael was thrilled to discover her new home after the Brooklyn Academy of Music, in which the play was staged with great acclaim, moved to the place she now calls New York City. Yael is co-founder of The Cannery. The Cannery encourages innovative writing, and creative endeavors in it's Bushwick studio.
